Digital Printing

The most modern printing technique, developed in the early 1990s, is large format digital printing. Special ink-jet or dye sublimation machines are used to print on material developed for the process. Although new inks and materials are in continuous development, digitally printed fabrics are somewhat less durable than traditional hand-painted or screen printed fabrics. Digital printing does have the advantage of producing multi-color and photographic images more cheaply than screen printing, particularly in smaller quantities.
